We have an outstanding staff of certified, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic coaches and trainers. Each of our staff is certified in different fitness realms to ensure a well rounded experience at our studio! You won't find a more well rounded staff anywhere in the Grand Strand. Finish Strong Training has a combined 60+ years of experience in the health and wellness field.

Jason Flanagan

Jason was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, but has now lived in the Myrtle Beach area for 14 years now. Jason received a full scholarship to attend Coastal Carolina University for the track and field team throwing the javelin where he graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Health Promotion and a minor in Exercise & Sport Science.
Jason finished his track career with Division 1 All- American honors and a top 50 world ranking. He now is ranked top 10 in the country in the Highland Games.
Jason has been part of the Finish Strong Community now for 5 years and is wonderful at teaching and motivating people. Passion and drive always make great coaches.
Jason has created Myrtle Beach Powerlifting alongside Mandie Aycock as the only all women powerlifting team in the Grand Strand. Their team holds over 8 state records and has taken multiple athletes to regional championships and even one athlete placed 9th in the country at the USA National Championship.
Jason is certified in USA Powerlifting (USAPL), USA Weightlifting (USAW), TRX Suspension Training, International Sports Science Association (ISSA) Certified Nutritionist, and American Heart Association (AHA) CPR & First Aid.


Chris Nwanegwo
COACH/ CERT. ATHLETIC TRAINER
Chris was raised in the Myrtle Beach area of South Carolina and was a 3-sport athlete at Carolina Forest High School (Myrtle Beach, SC).
Chris Nwanegwo earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Athletic Training from Charleston Southern University in 2015. Chris competed at the Division 1 College Football level while at Charleston Southern, from 2011-2015 while earning his degree.
Chris is a Certified Athletic Trainer through the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA)- Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers' (ATC). Chris is a State Certified Athletic Trainer in South Carolina. Chris is also a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certified Personal Trainer (CPT).
Chris has 4 years of experience as a Regional Sports Medicine Coordinator and Athletic Trainer for an outpatient Physical Therapy Company in the Myrtle Beach, Wilmington, and Charleston areas of North and South Carolina.
Chris enjoys spending time with his family and friends, watching, and attending sporting events, and helping improve the lives of others in whatever way possible. Chris is of Nigerian descent through his Father. (Last name pronunciation Wan-nuh-go)

Shelsea Novosa
YOGA/ BARRE INSTRUCTOR
Shelsea started her journey with yoga as a way to balance out athletic activity. It quickly became a resource for mental clarity and healing.
In 2006 she went through Yoga Teacher Training at the Sivananda Yoga Ashram.
After her journey at the Ashram, she led classes in New York, Philadelphia, Washington DC, South Florida and now in South Carolina.
Throughout the last 15 years, she has also studied other methods such as Barre, Pilates, Athletic Recovery Yoga, Yin Yoga and Reiki.
She's worked extensively with professional athletes, college sports teams, as well as recovering abuse victims and people of all different backgrounds.
When taking a class with Shelsea, you can expect good vibes, a sense of humor and a curated playlist.


Emily Vannoy
GLUTE INSTRUCTOR
In 2019 ‘Glute Lab’ classes began with the intent to bring a strictly glute-focused workout to Finish Strong. "To me, it’s fascinating what follows [strength wise/ injury prevention] when you prioritize training the glutes."- Emily. During these classes you can expect a quick 30-35 minute burner incorporating resistant bands, weights, and plyometrics; a combo sure to leave your bottom half exhausted.
Emily's fitness journey at Finish Strong began in 2015 and she has yet to try another gym since. With continual motivation from educated coaches and consistent clients, Finish Strong provides and uncomplicated path to staying persistent while pursuing your fitness goals.
Laura Davis
HIIT INSTRUCTOR
Laura has lived in Myrtle Beach for 7 years now, she is originally from Atlanta and really didn’t discover my love for fitness, specifically group fitness until she moved here and joined Finish Strong! Laura joined Finish Strong 6 ½ years ago and has been a trainer going on 5 years. Laura enjoyed working out alongside the members and wanted to get more involved in the workouts.
She has such a love for teaching and coaching, she decided to become a trainer in addition to her full-time job. "I have truly learned from the best at Finish Strong and I get a lot of joy and motivation out of being a part of the team!"- Laura
You can expect a good mix of high intensity exercises and strength exercises when you come to one of her classes. Laura also enjoys adding in some Pilates based movements and creatively utilizing different equipment. She always aims to challenge you, but also want you to have a good time and enjoy 50 minutes being stress free! The mental part of a workout is just as important as the physical part. Laura definitely looks forward to seeing you at one of her classes!


Amanda Anthony
HIIT INSTRUCTOR
Amanda has been a Finish Strong member for seven years. On her fitness journey at Finish Strong she has met many members who are kind, determined, motivated, and supportive. She likes to dance, laugh and helping others brings her such joy. She believes any goal is possible as long as you work hard to achieve it.
Four years ago, Amanda became a personal trainer and bootcamp instructor to change the mindsets and motivate others to be the best they can be. Living a healthy-balanced lifestyle alongside of fitness is always important and a passion of hers. Amanda cares about our members and relates well with others. "I want to encourage our members to be the best they can be by making choices that make them happy, confident and strong while living a healthy lifestyle. I love a challenge and I am definitely a goal crusher!"- Amanda.
Amanda would love to help change your mindset, share some laughs, burn some calories and assist you to meeting your goals.
Mandie Aycock
POWERLIFTING COACH/ HIIT
Mandie joined Finish Strong Training as a member in February of 2014. By March of 2015 Mandie was certified and coaching my own classes. Since then she has found a deeper appreciation for powerlifting, strength sports and mobility training.
She is now a certified USAPL powerlifting coach and competitive athlete. Mandie's classes are high energy, challenging and I’m known for always bringing the best playlists.
Her favorite thing about Finish Strong is the family style environment we’ve been able to establish while growing as a community.
