1.What’s a typical men’s boot-camp class like?

I usually arrive at 6am to warm-up just as the women’s 5:15 am class is coming out. It’s motivating seeing 10-15 people leaving as I am going in. It makes me say to myself “don’t be lazy they’ve been up way before you.” As I walk through the doors I am always greeted by a very enthusiastic “how’s it going” by Bob. Our class consists of guys from ages of 30-50 years old and varies in size from 2-8. On the rare occasion that I am part of one of the smaller classes, I immediately brace myself for complete domination and total body paralysis. A typical workout consists of: sled-pull, battle ropes, chin-up/pull-ups, stairs, inverted rows, TRX hip raises, wheel-barrel, dips or anything Bob saw on the internet or dreamed about the night before.

2. How long have you been a member of Finish Strong?

I’ve been a member at FS participating in the men’s 6:15am class for a little over a year.

3. What kind of music is typically playing during the men’s classes?

Typical music ranges from Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” to Eminem’s “Lose Yourself”, unedited which I really appreciate. I don’t get up at 5:30am to hear censored music!

4.Who is the strongest man in the group?

BOB

5.If you and Bob switched places for the day, what kind of workout would you put him through? (Think payback)

Obviously, any grueling physical activity you could imagine Bob would absolutely LOVE. I would start the workout by saying “I have some good news and some bad news, the good news is you only have to do this once, the bad news is you must sit here and eat 30 glazed donut-holes and wash it down with a Coca-Cola Classic (not diet). I am pretty sure Bob would spontaneously-combust.

6.What's your life motto?

I am a big Winston Churchill fan. Hence the name of our dog Mr. Winston. My favorite quote is pretty simple, but I try to follow it daily; “I am an optimist. It does not seem too much use being anything else” –Winston Churchill

7. Where's your favorite travel destination?

Las Vegas

8.What do you like most about the workouts at FS?

What I love about our workouts is that it is a body core workout. I’ve always had a problem balancing my body. When I played baseball at CCU (Current National Champions, boom!), I wasn’t centered. When I decided to get back in the gym after college my gym regimen consisted of Bench Press and Curls. This is the first time in my life I feel I am not neglecting any aspects of my body and I am stronger and much more balanced from head to toe.

9.What’s a hobbie of yours?

Golf and Tennis

10.Fill in the blank. Finish Strong is....

..for anyone. You can be athletic or non-athletic. You can be competitive or non-competitive. You can be fast or you can be slow. You can even hate working out and I still believe the Finish Strong classes appeal to anyone looking to become happier, healthier, and “really really really ridiculously good looking” (Derek Zoolander, Zoolander)
